Several brief, social-psychological interventions have been shown to
reduce stress and improve mental and physical health. Dr. Slavich can
work with your company, university, or organization to help develop
and implement a stress intervention program that meets your needs.
These programs utilize state-of-the-art stress management techniques
and are based on years of scientific research on these topics.
Stress Assessment Services
Stress occurring across the life course has been shown to influence
human health and wellbeing. Dr. Slavich has developed several
interview and computer-based systems for assessing this stress
exposure as a way to understand peoples’ life histories, psychosocial
functioning, and disease risk. These systems can be tailored to
measure different aspects of a person’s early and more recent
life experiences.
Talks and Workshops on Stress and Health
Research on stress and health has advanced considerably in recent
years. We now understand what aspects of stress are particularly
impactful, how these experiences get under the skin to affect health,
and what we can do about these processes to improve human health and
well-being. Dr. Slavich can visit your group or organization and give
a talk or workshop that addresses your group’s specific interests as
they relate to the conceptualization, assessment, and management of
life stress.
Scientific Consultation Services
Dr. Slavich has led several large-scale projects investigating the
effects of stress on mental and physical health. He can provide expert
scientific consultation services to your organization or lab in order
to address your group’s specific goals.
